WESTPAC STADIUM TO OPEN DOORS FOR 15TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

In 2015, Westpac Stadium is turning 15 and to celebrate the doors will be open for all to enjoy a very special birthday party.

The Stadium will be open from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 25 July as part of the Capital's 150th Open House event. There will be loads of activities on offer - test out your sporting skills on the pitch or take a look around the changing rooms to see where your favourite sporting stars prepare before the big matches. Plus don't miss Life Flight's Westpac Rescue Helicopter landing in the bowl at 12noon! *

KIDS ZONE

An area in the Concourse for kids to let their creativity go plus a bouncy castle to keep their energy levels high. 

SKILLS & DRILLS

Have you ever been on the pitch? Now is your chance! Head to the bowl and try out different sporting skills. Note these sessions run from 10.15am to 11.30am and resume in the afternoon at 1.15pm to 2.30pm.

BACK OF HOUSE TOURS

Running every 15 minutes, there will be a maximum number of 20 people per tour, so head to the VIP Corporate entrance to sign up once at the Stadium.

BUSKERS STAGE

A free stage area with power for you to pop along and do your thing! We'll have a sign up board and rotate every 30 mins. 

CAKE

What's a celebration without a cake! We'll have one or two to share around midday.

CAPITAL 150th

The Open House is a city-wide event with more than 30 national institutions open to the public at no charge. A free hop-on, hop-off bus service, sponsored by Go Wellington, will take visitors around the Open House circuit with the closest stop for the Stadium at the Wellington Railway Station plus our Stadium car park will be free for attendees that day!

Later that evening, Wellington will celebrate with a "Big Birthday Party" from 5-7pm. Dave Dobbyn and the Orpheus Choir at Parliament Grounds will lead a celebration of Wellington along with a spectacular 3D light and sound show that brings the city's history to life. <link http: www.wellingtonnz.com capital150th _blank external-link-new-window external link in new>Find out more about the 150th anniversary events.
