GETTING TO WESTPAC STADIUM

Up to 22,000 attendees are expected for each performance, so please arrive in plenty of time in order to take your seats prior to the start of the event.

  • Taxis and public drop-offs will be permitted in the Stadium drop off lane for Northbound traffic (ground floor of the Stadium car park), and Hinemoa St for Southbound traffic, along with Bunny St and Thorndon Spiral.
  • There will be a people mover (large golf cart) running from the Stadium drop off lane (wait times may occur depending on demand - see Accessiblity Information below).
  • If you are taking public transport, we recommend you check the service provider in advance for updates or delays on the day. <link https: www.metlink.org.nz service-updates additional-rail-and-bus-public-transport-services-royal-military-tattoo-thursday-18-to-sunday-21-february-2016 external link in new>Metlink information is here >>

    • BUSES: No extra scheduled services pre or post-event.
    • SHUTTLES: Pre-event shuttles operating (Courtney Place - Manners Street - Willis Street – Stadium) every 20 minutes from 5.40-8.20pm. A limited number will operate post-event.
  • Check transport routes in advance and leave plenty of time for your travel to Westpac Stadium.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE EVENT? (Incl. Road Closure Information)

Following the event, please be patient leaving the Stadium and car park as high volumes of vehicles depart the venue. Expect some temporary delays whilst this occurs.

People movers will be available to transport patrons requiring assistance from the entrance gates to the top of the railway station ramps, the overbridge at the CentrePort side or the top of the spiral staircase on Thorndon Quay. Capacity is limited and they can only operate when safe to do so, so there may be a wait for this service.  Patrons are welcome to wait for shuttles in the Pavilion Bar.

Some road closures will be in place from approximately 9.00pm on Bunny Street, Waterloo Quay and Stout St.

Please note that taxis and pick ups from the Stadium are available only after the car park has cleared and shuttle buses have exited. This is normally 30-40 minutes after the completion of the event.

You may find it quicker to be picked up from Wellington Railway Station (Bunny St) or Hinemoa St if Southbound.

FOOD AND DRINK

  • There will be an array of food concessions available at the Stadium.
  • Small amounts of homemade food for personal consumption (sandwiches, fruit, chippies, cakes etc) may be brought in to the venue.
  • You may bring in sealed clear plastic water bottles up to one litre in size.
  • Empty plastic water bottles can be filled from water outlets located around the concourse.
  • No other beverages or containers (e.g. thermos flasks) can be brought into the venue.
