In the event of a large earthquake, road and rail links out of Wellington city could be cut off for many days, possibly longer. If you commute into the city, you may have no choice but to walk home.
Be more prepared by taking part in this long-distance walk alongside your fellow commuters.
The route begins at the Westpac Trust Stadium concourse in Wellington city and finishes at County Lane, Silverstream, a total of 30 km. You don’t have to walk the full route – you can choose to finish at checkpoints along the way.
The event is open to people of all ages and abilities. Entry costs $20 per person to cover expenses.
