New Zealand Eid Day is a bi-annual event bringing together the New Zealand Muslim community for a day of celebration and joy. Eid community events have been held in Auckland and Christchurch for many years and now for the first time we are excited to help bring it to the Wellington muslim community.
Eid transaltes to "feast" and is observed twice a year by almost 2 billion muslims worldwide. Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha commemorates the end of the Hajj pilgrimage period.
Come along this Sunday to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment. From games, educational displays, stage shows, guest speakers and food stalls from the 35+ ethnicities that make up the Muslim community, you will find something for the whole family – adults and children alike.
