All Whites v Peru

Saturday 11 November 2017

Review

The All Whites have kept their hopes of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup alive after a spirited scoreless draw against World No 10 Peru in Wellington. The hosts put on a determined performance which showed they could match the fifth-ranked South American side.

The OFC Nations Cup champions will travel to Lima tomorrow for the away leg on Wednesday (Thursday NZT) with the chance to make history by becoming only the third team from New Zealand to qualify for a FIFA World Cup.

Event Information

The All Whites are on their final step on their Road to Russia. The FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign concludes on Saturday 11 November at Westpac Stadium, Wellington when they take on Peru for a place in Russia next year at the biggest sporting event in the world.

After defeating the Solomon Islands 8-3 on aggregate to book their place in the Intercontinental Playoff, the All Whites will now face World No. 12 home and away after they finished as the fifth-ranked South American team.

All New Zealand Football fans will remember that magical night at Westpac Stadium in 2009. Rory Fallon scored the decisive goal which sent New Zealand into raptures and the All Whites to the World Cup. If you missed the 2009 game you won’t want to miss what will be one of the best sporting moments you will ever experience!

Only two All Whites teams have qualified for the FIFA World Cup and Anthony Hudson’s team is focused on following in their footsteps and making history.

Let’s turn the Stadium white, get behind Winston Reid, Chris Wood and the boys and #BeThereAsOne
