Event Information

The All Blacks take on South Africa in the second game of the rugby championship on Saturday 27 July. The Wellington test match will be a dress rehearsal for the All Blacks v South Africa opening Rugby World Cup pool match in Japan in September. It will be the only chance the two teams get to size each other up ahead of Rugby World Cup.

11.00am - Box office open for venue pick ups 

1.00pm - Car park opens

3.00pm - Ticketek box office opens

5.30pm - Gates open

7.35pm - Kick off

Tickets

The All Blacks v South Africa test match this Saturday is sold out! Thanks Wellington for your amazing support. Fans are reminded to buy any tickets for the remaining All Blacks matches through the legitimate channels at tickets.allblacks.com and to get to the game early to avoid queues.

As you get to the Stadium, ensure you have your officially purchased tickets ready with barcodes ready to scan. Any queries please head to the box office for further information.

If you selected “ezyTicket” as your delivery method, please ensure you have printed your tickets before heading to the game and have these ready to scan at the turnstiles.

If you have to collect your tickets on game day, the Westpac Stadium Box Office will be open from 11 am. You will need your credit/debit card and photo I.D. to collect tickets.

Car parking
The Stadium car park has sold out for this event. If you have pre-purchased a car park don't forget to print out your ezyticket and have ready to show on your arrival to the carpark. Car park ezytickets must be printed, mobile versions are not accepted. Once parked, please leave on your dashboard. Please note, there is no parking available for campervans within the Stadium.

Public transport
Public transport is a great and easy way to get to the Stadium. There will be additional train services and seating on services before and after the game. They will also have an additional Wairarapa service before and after the match. For more information, click here.

Road Closures
Several road closures will be in place pre and post-event from the following times: 

Pre-match: 3.00pm – 8:30pm Saturday 27 July

  • Bunny Street:

    • Featherston Street end closed

    • No right turn, southbound, from Waterloo Quay

    • No right turn into Bunny Street from Stout Street

  • Featherston Street:

    • Left land closure between Mulgrave Street and Whitmore Street

    • No left turn into Bunny Street

  • Westpac Stadium Entry

    • No Taxis or drop-offs permitted after 5:30pm

Post-match: 8.30pm – 11:30pm Saturday 27 July

  • Bunny Street:

    • Featherston Street end closed

    • No right turn into Bunny Street, southbound, from Waterloo Quay

    • No right turn into Bunny Street from Stout Street

  • Featherston Street:

    • No right turn into Featherston Street from Stout Street

    • Closed between Mulgrave Street and Whitmore Street

  • Thorndon Quay:

    • Closed between Davis Street and Mulgrave Street

  • Mulgrave Street:

    • Closed between Aitken Street and Featherston Street/Thorndon Quay

  • Featherston St:

    • Closed between Mulgrave Street and Whitmore St

Drop off information 
Taxis, Rideshares, and drop offs are not permitted within the Stadium after 5:30pm. Taxi, Rideshare and public drop-offs are available after 5:30pm at Bunny St (Wellington Railway Station) and on Thorndon Quay at the Thorndon Spiral access to Westpac Stadium. It is then a short walk along the Fran Wilde Walkway to the front gates. 

Mobility drop-offs are permitted in the ground level drop-off lane, at all times, on presentation of a valid Mobility Permit. Please have your permit visible at all times and ready to present to Police or Stadium staff on arrival. A stadium transport service is available to transport you from the car park to the front gates. Please speak to staff for more details

Buses & Coaches
All coaches wishing to drop-off or park for Stadium events require a permit from the Bus & Coach Association. Click here to apply. Please note that demand is high for these events and there are strictly limited permits available on a first-in first-served basis. You must have your permit with you on arrival to the Stadium or you will not be permitted entry.

Buses and coaches will not be permitted near the Stadium precinct and surrounding areas without a valid permit. There are no provisions for drop-off within walking distance to the Stadium. Any operators failing to comply will be denied access to future Stadium events. 

The best option is to use public transport if you can.

Pick up information
There are no taxi stands at the Stadium. Taxis are available at Bunny St (Wellington Railway Station) and on Thorndon Quay at the Thorndon Spiral access to Westpac Stadium immediately following the match. Taxis are available in the ground level car park pickup lane approximately 40 minutes after the final whistle.

A stadium transport service is available to take you from the Stadium to the car park, top of the Railway Station ramp and Thorndon Spiral. Those with mobility requirements will have priority. Please speak to staff for more details. Please note this can only operate when it is safe to do so, and the crowd has dispersed.

Food & drink

  • 'The Norm Burger', created by All Blacks legend Norm Hewitt, can be found at the Burger Bar opposite Aisle 15, the Mezzanine Bar opposite Aisle 25 and the Stadium Members Club.

  • All food and beverage outlets will be open plus additional facilities on the Plaza and around the concourse.

  • Small amounts of food for personal consumption is allowed. 

  • You can bring in an empty clear plastic water bottle (max. 1 litre).

  • Water fountains are also located at Aisle 2,6, 9, 11, 23, 25, 28 and 32.

  • Serving limits for alcoholic drinks per person will apply. 


GENERAL INFORMATION

  • For the safety of all patrons, bag searches will be conducted on entry into the Stadium. Entry and search processes will be thorough so please ensure you allow plenty of time. 

  • The Fran Wilde Walkway is part of the Central City Alcohol Ban area. Drinking and/or possession of alcohol is prohibited at all times in any public place within the Wellington city control area.
